How it started….

I started this little enterprise in 2022 and it has been a steep learning curve. I have considered everything from the height and surface I use to print on, the quality and colour of the fabric, the inks I use, the best sizes and shapes of the potatoes, the methods of applying the ink, the washing process (after ironing on a hot setting no colour runs), the choice of zipper and how to get the whole making up process as good as it can be, issues around packaging and delivery, how to take good photos and to build an attractive and useful website!

I have had much good advice from friends and family and now I am ready!

I have experimented a great deal but I love printing with potaoes. This organic vegetable that grows in the ground comes in fabulous shapes and sizes. The effect is beautifully mottled when ink and fabric combine and there is a sharp definition at the edge of the shape, I like to call it a ‘crisp outline’.

When I am printing a design, several more possibilities pop into my head and I am inspired to move on and try them out. This is why the print editions are small (often just 2) and it means that if your eye catches a cushion you like……………
